Bitachon Brings Serenity

Miriam* from Tzfas called in and said that since she’s been following A Life with Bitachon, she doesn’t stop having stories. For example, she was at Meron and she missed the last bus back to her house. She was trying to figure out what she could do. Suddenly, her friend passed by! She said she never sees that friend anywhere. Another time she went on a bus and her bus card wasn’t working, so someone lent her five shekel. The person said that the next time they meet, she can pay her back. She had no idea who that person was since it was the first time she ever saw her. A teacher who taught in R’ Zechariah Wallerstein Zt’l’s yeshivah met a previous student who had been off the derech. The girl looked like a regular, frum, normal Bais Yaakov girl. The teacher started shmoozing with her. The girl told her, “Guess what changed my life. Do you know the bitachon hotline? I listen every day. It taught me that Hashem loves me, so I talk to Hashem the whole day.” She said, “It’s so geshmak! I never felt so good in my life. I am so close to Hashem and it changed my life. He started thinking through all the related chassadim, that he Baruch Hashem had feet, Baruch Hashem his hands weren’t hurting, Baruch Hashem he didn’t hurt his face…. He realized that if you focus on all the chassadim in the story, it’s a million times more than what just happened – that he fell and hurt himself. R’ Dovid* brings his kids to the bus stop to go to cheder. The stop is all the way down the block at the corner. One day, he was running late. He said, “Hashem, I have bitachon that when I walk out of my door I will find the bus waiting there.” He opened his door and he saw that there was a huge traffic jam and the bus which usually stops all the way down the block was… right in front of his house! Hospital Bitachon Episode

Mrs. Leibowitz from Eretz Yisrael underwent a fullday surgery. When the surgery was finished, R’ Leibowitz wanted to go visit his wife. The hospital said, “Sorry, policy is that you can’t see a patient post-surgery for the first three hours, and it’s going to be night by then, after visiting hours, so you have to come back tomorrow.” He said “Tomorrow? My wife needs me to come visit her now, to see how she’s doing.” He called askanim, but the askanim said, “Nothing doing. They don’t budge. They go with the policy. By them, a rule is a rule.” R’ Leibowitz hung up the phone and he said, “Hashem, no one could help me. Not askanim, no one! Bitachon Heals Arm

Seven-year-old Dovid* broke his hand right before Yom Tov. His hand was placed in a cast. He went back on Chal Hamoed to the doctor. The doctor said, “The hand is not healing right and would require surgery.” Dovid’s father asked if surgery could be pushed off a week as they wanted to go out of town for the last days. “Yes, we can push it off a week.” Dovid was crying, he didn’t want surgery. His father told him, “Hashem is the Kol Yochol and could fix it. Let us do what Rav Chaim Kanievsky zt”l recommended that one should learn the Torah related to the Machalah.” So, they learned Mesechta Yodayim. When they came back to the doctor a week later, he said, “We have to do the surgery.” Dovid’s father asked if he could push it off another week. The doctor said, “Yes, but, that’s it.” I’m scheduling the surgery for next Thursday.” Dovid’s father asked if they could have an appointment on Wednesday to check if they still need surgery? The doctor couldn’t understand why they should check on Wednesday, but gave them the Wednesday appointment. They finished mesechta Yodayim and came on Wednesday.
