Chaim Schwartz,* a Bochur learning in yeshiva, had difficulty understanding his Rebbi’s Shiur. When anyone asked him how the Shiur was, he would say, “It was Gavaldig, it was amazing. I understood every word!” He wanted to say a positive lie rather than a negative truth, like we say over on the hotline from R’ Avigdor Miller. Since then, he’s been understanding Shiur much better!
