A Rebbi from Eretz Yisroel, Rabbi Lehrer* had borrowed a large sum of money for his basic needs from a compassionate and generous fellow Jew, without knowing where he would find the resources to repay him.
Then, when the time came for the loan to be due, the fellow Jew went one step further; he told R’ Lehrer he doesn’t have to pay back the money; he is mochel the loan completely!
Am Yisrael is such a helping, giving, caring, and loving nation!
