Daily Bitachon #1700

Mrs. Padower has a son learning in yeshiva. Before he left one morning, he told his mother that one of his teeth were hurting him. He asked her if she was able to schedule him a dentist appointment for that day. He only wanted to go bein hasedarim. He didn’t want to go during seder time. She said to her son, “I understand that you want to go only during bein hasedarim, and that you want an appointment right away. However, the dentist doesn’t run around YOUR schedule. We have to go around the dentist’s schedule. Beggars can’t be choosers. Therefore, what are the chances that you can get an appointment today? Even if you can, what are the chances that it will be for exactly when you want it?” Then she said, “One second. That’s when you go with teva, with laws of nature; that they’re the ones in charge of giving out appointments. But if I believe that Hakadosh Baruch Hu is the one who makes appointments and He’s the one in charge, then I’m just going to leave it up to Hashem and say, ‘Hashem, You’re Hakol Yachol. I want an appointment today, and during bein hasedarim.’” With that, she called up the dentist and had in mind that really she is talking to Hakadosh Baruch Hu, the Ribono Shel Olam. She asked if they had any available slots for today. The secretary said, “Sure, we just got an opening for 3 o’clock! Would you like to come?” Mrs. Padower answered, “That’s exactly perfect! That’s smack in middle of bein hasedarim!!” With that, they got the perfect appointment, strictly during bein hasedarim. He was able to go back and forth and not miss learning! As heard on ‘A Life With Bitachon’. Read more: Daily Bitachon #1701

This story has been called in by Mrs. Rubin. She had a kimpeturin in her house. She was helping out and taking care of the newborn baby. It was Friday afternoon, and she was so busy with the baby, that she realized she needed a cleaning lady to come and clean up L’kavod Shabbos. She was thinking to herself, ‘What do you think? You just expect that a cleaning lady should just fly out of nowhere?’ Then she said, ‘One second. I follow A Life with Bitachon. Yes, a cleaning lady can pop up out of nowhere! I’m just going to open the front door, look outside, and say, “Hashem, You’re Hakol Yachol!! You can do everything and anything! You can make a cleaning lady walk straight through my door!” She opened up her door, went out to her front yard, and saw a non-Jewish lady standing there. She asked her if she can help her with anything. The lady responded, “Yes! I’m a cleaning lady and I’m looking for work. Do you know anyone who needs help?” Mrs. Rubin said, “Are you serious?? I need help! Come right inside!” In no time, she got the best service, better than ever! As heard on ‘A Life With Bitachon’. Read more: Daily Bitachon #1700

This story has been called in by a very chashuv Yid by the name of R’ Yoini Sarf. He said that it was Friday and his son came home from Cheder, and he wasn’t feeling well. He really wanted to take him to his doctor before Shabbos to make sure he was okay. He called the doctors office and they told him ,”Sorry, but we are booked solid.” He hung up the phone thinking to himself. What should I do? I really want to go to the doctor before Shabbos but they’re booked solid! Then he stopped and said, “One second. I follow the yesodos of a Life with Bitachon, I chop and realize. You think it’s up to the receptionist, up to the doctor, to see if there are appointments available? It’s Hashem who takes care of me. Therefore, I’m just going to believe that Hashem is Hakol Yachol, He’s going to work everything out; I’m just going to leave it up to Hashem!!” It didn’t take too much longer…the receptionist called him back and said, “You called before for an appointment and I told you there are no appointments. Well, you should just know that an appointment just became available! Do you want to come now?” He said, “Sure, of course! That’s perfect.” Just like that, they got the best appointment and everything worked out better than ever!!! As heard on ‘A Life With Bitachon’. Read more: Daily Bitachon #1693

This story has been called in by a chashuva yid, by the name of R’ Avrumi Waldman. He was waiting at the airport to get a flight back to Lakewood. The lines were out the doors. It looked like he was going to have to wait a couple of hours. By the time it was going to come his turn, the plane would be long gone! But he really wanted to go home already! He was trying to figure out what he should do. Then he said, “One second. Who’s in charge of making sure I catch my flight? My loving, caring father Hakadosh Baruch Hu the Ribbono Shel Olam. If Hakadosh Baruch Hu is in charge, He’s Hakol Yachol. He can do everything and anything. Ahh, the line looks like its going to take hours? But, when you live with Hakadosh Baruch Hu, its a different Shulchan Aruch; its a different set of laws.” All of sudden, as he was thinking about Hakadosh Baruch Hu running this world, and that He’s Hakol Yachol; a supervisor called him over to the side and said to him; “Come with me. I’m going to give you door to door service.” I’ll take care of all your needs!!” Just like that, out of the blue; he didn’t even know where that person came from. He got on the flight that he needed go on in no time. He got the best service, better than ever!! As heard on ‘A Life With Bitachon’ Read more: Daily Bitachon #1691

This story was called in by Rabbi Gross. Rabbi Gross said that he was going to Eretz Yisrael together with his Rebbetzin and their little baby. When they were boarding the plane, he asked if he could have a bassinet seat for the baby. They responded, “Sorry, all the bassinet seats are already taken. Besides for that, there are ten people in front of you that asked first. There isn’t even a chance.” After hearing their response, his Rebbetzin turned to him and said, “Don’t worry. It’s not up to them. They’re not in charge. We always hear on ‘A Life with Bitachon’ that Hashem runs the world, not them.” Rabbi Gross told her, “But practically speaking, realistically, they said all the seats are taken and there are ten people in front of us. So where do you think the bassinet will fall from? The sky?” His Rebbetzin said, “Yes! With Hakol Yachol, that’s what happens!!” As they were going on the plane, the one in charge came over to them and told them that he’s sorry, but they have to change their seats. Where were their new seats? Right in back of business class, where there was a beautiful bassinet, ready for them, waiting for them to put the baby in!! As heard on ‘A Life With Bitachon’. This story was called in by Mrs. Schwartz. She said over that she’s making a chasunah very soon. She needed $20,000, but she had no idea where she could come up with that type of money. On top of that, her tenant just told her that they planned on leaving that month. That meant a loss of income, because she didn’t have time right then to start looking for another tenant. What was going to be? Then she decided that she’s going to tell her family, “Do you know who’s making this chasunah? Hakadosh Baruch Hu, the Ribbono Shel Olam. Do you know who is taking care of all our needs? Hakadosh Baruch Hu, the Ribbono Shel Olam. Therefore, we should only chap and realize that Hashem is taking care of us, and he’s paying the bill! Where is the money going to come from? You will see, kinderlach. It’s going to start flying in! Where, when, why, I have no idea. I’m just going to leave it up to Hashem.” All of a sudden, the phone rang. Somebody called up and said, “I know your tenant is leaving. I would love if I could have the apartment. Can I take it over? If you agree that I can take it over, I’ll give you money up front in cash right now. I’ll come over 1, 2, 3.” She said, “Are you serious?” He said, “Yes! I have 20,000 in cash for you, no problem.” With that, in a matter of minutes, she got all the money she needed, with the best service! As heard on ‘A Life With Bitachon’. Daily Bitachon #1677

This story was called in by Mr. Rabinowitz. He said that there was a blockage in the pipes leading to his washing machine, and the washing machine wasn’t working properly. His wife called a repairman to come fix it. When she told him how much the repairman charged, he realized that he could have gotten a different repairman for half the price. At first he was thinking, “What a waste of money. I know someone who can do the same job for much less.” Then he stopped in his tracks and said, “One second. I follow a Life with Bitachon. I chap and realize that where does money come from? It comes from Hakadosh Baruch Hu. It comes from the Ribbono Shel Olam. So the amount of money we spent on this repairman, Hashem has many ways to give it back. From where, from when, how? I don’t have to figure out eitzos, I just have to believe that Hashem is Hakol Yachol, and He’ll give us back the money 1, 2, 3!” With that, he was perfectly okay and fine with his wife getting that repairman because he knew it didn’t make difference anyway. Hashem would pay him back. Later on that day, his wife came home from work and said that someone came over to her and gave her money. They said, “You did a service for me. I want to show you hakaras hatov.” Do you know how much money it was? The exact amount, to the dollar, of how much they spent on the repairman. In no time, they got every last dollar back! Daily Bitachon #1676

This story was called in from Ramot Alef in Eretz Yisrael by Mrs. Goldberg. She said over that she is a seamstress. We all know that before Yom Tov is one of the busiest seasons; people are coming nonstop. “Could you hem this? Can you fix this?” As it was getting closer and closer to Yom Tov, she was making more rules and more rules, until she decided that she wouldn’t take any new clothing unless it was something simple As Yom Tov got even closer, she said, “Sorry! No more clothing! I have to get everything back to all of my customers before Yom Tov, I don’t have time for anything else.” Whoever had already given her stuff would be waiting for a couple of days to get it back. The line was very long. All of a sudden, she got a knock on her door. A lady came in and said, “I have a couple of articles of clothing that need hemming, sewing. Can you do it before Yom Tov?” Mrs. Goldberg was thinking to herself, “No! I can’t do it before Yom Tov, I have no t ime! It’s going to take me too long.” To her own surprise, she said, “Yes, I can do it. I can do it right away, on the spot!” The lady gave her one article, then a second article. Mrs. Goldberg was wondering to herself the whole time, “This doesn’t make sense. Why did I just take it? I don’t have time! Even the people that I already agreed to take their clothes, I don’t do it for them on the spot!” After she finally finished the tailoring, she actually even gave it to her for a cheaper price than usual. It wasn’t adding up! It didn’t make sense. Mrs. Goldberg didn’t understand what was going on. After she gave her back all the articles of clothing, she said, “Can I ask you one question? It doesn’t make sense. I haven’t been taking any more customers; I’ve been turning down so many people. You, not only do I take you; I do it on the spot; and I even give you a cheaper price! Can you tell me what was going on behind the scenes? Why did this happen to me?” The customer said, “I’ll tell you the truth. I woke up this morning, and I said, ‘Yes, I know it’s the day before Yom Tov. But Hashem, I really want something new. Hashem, I really want my clothing to get hemmed and fixed. Hashem, I know You are the only one who is going to be able to do it for me. On top of that, Hashem, I want a good price; I want a cheap price.’ And I just told Hashem this. After I spoke to Hashem, I came to you. I said I want a close seamstress, so I don’t have to run around. No issues and no problems. I want everything to go smooth from beginning to end. I want it to be chick-chock, 1,2,3. Here I am, and guess what! That’s exactly what happened! Chick-chock, 1,2,3, with the best service, best price, everything was superb!” As hear on ‘A Life With Bitachon’. Read more: Daily Bitachon #1677

How Are You Here?

By: Rabbi Yossi Rosenberg (Excerpt from Yated Ne’eman, printed with their kind permission) It’s statistically impossible for you to be here. There are over 1,000,000,000,000 (one trillion) neurons in an average human brain, and over 100,000,000,000,000 (one hundred trillion) synapses, connections through which the neurons communicate with each other. In one eye alone, the part that sees is comprised of tiny rods and cones. Each human retina can have about 7,000,000 (seven million) cones and between 75,000,000 (seventy-five million) and 150,000,000 (one hundred and fifty million) rods! The human circulatory system has blood vessels that reach every cell in our bodies, including over 10,000,000,000 (ten billion) microscopic capillaries. If we were to stretch our blood vessels out in one straight line, it would go around the world over two and a half times! Yet, our heart, pumping at an average of seventy to eighty beats per minute, circulates all of our blood through our entire system of blood vessels around three times every minute! The pumping is powered by electricity manufactured in the heart itself. The average adult human produces 200,000,000,000 (two hundred billion) red blood vessels, 10,000,000,000 (ten billion) white blood cells, and 400,000,000,000 (four hundred billion) platelets per day. These transport oxygen and whatever is necessary for every cell in the body – such as carbohydrates, proteins, fats, salts, glucose, calcium, iron, copper, etc. – all in a perfectly organized and highly regulated manner. They also carry away carbon dioxide and other waste products, and fight off thousands of potential diseases through a sophisticated system of ever-changing, custom-made antibodies. Every single person since creation has his or her own unique genome sequence made up of approximately 3,000,000,000 (three billion) pairs of deoxyribonucleic acid (DNA), structured in a stunning double-helix polymer containing four nitrogenous bases attached to a deoxyribonucleic sugar molecule and a phosphate molecule. These are just a tiny sampling of the trillions of highly sophisticated and exquisitely controlled activities going on each and every second in every human body. Clearly, then, you are not – statistically speaking – here right now, simply because there is no way that you are alive and capable of reading. It’s impossible. There’s just no way for so many trillions of moving parts operated by so many different yet interconnected systems to work properly for one day, let alone for years and years. The problem is the fact that you are here! Clearly, it would be safe to say that our very existence is living proof that Hashem is in charge of that which He created, and that He takes care of it all, down to the minutest details, regardless of what may or may not be the actual statistical outcome.
