The Emunah and Bitachon Button

R’ Bloch’s clicker for his car was not working. He tried this and that and then he said to himself that he must need a new clicker. He was about to go get a new clicker, but then he said to himself, “One second. Maybe I just need Emunah and Bitachon. Do I think you press a button, and the clicker works? Maybe I have to press the Emunah and Bitachon button.” He clicked the Emunah and Bitachon button, and the clicker started working! “It’s not the bus, it’s Hashem”

Rabbi Golombeck’s nephew, Shimon Stein, missed his bus to cheder one morning. He lives very far from his cheder and his parents weren’t home. He was trying to figure out how in the world he was going to get to cheder. Then he said, “One second. Who takes me to cheder every morning? It’s not the bus, it’s Hashem!” He crossed the street of his house, and a car stopped. It was a neighbor. He said, “Where do you need to go?” Shimon said, “Cheder!” The neighbor said, “Sure, hop in!” Read more: Bitachon #58

Bitachon Turns on Shabbos Mode

R’ Kaufman has a Shabbos mode oven that he was never able to figure out, so every week, his wife does it. This past week, his wife forgot to do it. She had bentched licht already, so it was too late. He had to do it, but he had no idea how! He said, “Hashem, I’m just going to sing Hakol Yachol while pressing some buttons.” The Shabbos mode turned on! Therapy with Bitachon

R’ Klein,* a therapist was working with a child who had many, many delays. The parents weren’t seeing any progress. They said to the therapist, “We don’t understand. You’ve been working with our child for such a long time, but he’s still in the same place. There’s no progress and he still has so many delays, he’s so behind. The therapist said, “Okay, I’ll see what I can do.” He turned to Hashem and said, “Hashem. They think I’m the one in charge, it’s You and I’m leaving it up to You.” Later on that day, the mother said, “Wow. From one minute to next, he’s a different child. Who is in charge of available appointments? Hashem.

Rabbi Golombeck was in the bank Wells Fargo on Friday in order to take care of something important. They told him that in order to take care of it he would need an appointment. They told him he would have to come back on Monday to make an appointment. Rabbi Golombeck told them that he really needs to take care of it today. They told him, “We don’t have any appointments available for today.” Rabbi Golombeck was thinking to himself, “One second. Who is in charge of available appointments? Hashem.” He said, ‘Hashem! They can give me an appointment.” The man said to Rabbi Golombeck, “You know what? The next meeting is in 10 minutes. If you take care of it within 10 minutes, then I could do it for you.” Within ten minutes the whole thing was taken care of! Read more: Bitachon #55

Everything Works Out to The Tee!

R’ Friedman,* a Rebbe, had to bring his daughter to a doctor’s appointment. He realized that he would have to take off from teaching time. He didn’t want to, because he just took off recently for a chasunah, and he can’t take off too many days. He didn’t know what to do, because his daughter really needed that appointment; they waited a long time for it. Then he said, “One second. Hashem can orchestrate everything. I’ll just leave it up to Hashem!” Not long afterwards, the menahel told R’ Friedman that the yeshiva was going to be having a field day, and they would be going on a trip. The yeshiva doesn’t usually go on trips but something came up and they’re going on a trip. During the trip, R’ Friedman would not have to come in to teach. Bitachon Aliah

R’ Fisher* from Eretz Yisrael moved into a new neighborhood and started going to a new Shul. He wanted to daven for the amud. He was davening there for a few weeks, and they never asked him once to daven for the amud. One Shabbos he said to Hashem, “Okay, I am leaving it up to you. The gabbai is not calling me; he doesn’t notice me; I’m going with You.” That Shabbos, while they were giving aliyos, he was mechazek more and more in Bitachon. When they were giving maftir, they called him up and they said that he gets a package deal. He gets maftir and mussaf. He ended up getting an aliyah; mafitr and davening for the amud!
