This story was called in by Rabbi Gross. Rabbi Gross said that he was going to Eretz Yisrael together with his Rebbetzin and their little baby. When they were boarding the plane, he asked if he could have a bassinet seat for the baby. They responded, “Sorry, all the bassinet seats are already taken. Besides for that, there are ten people in front of you that asked first. There isn’t even a chance.” After hearing their response, his Rebbetzin turned to him and said, “Don’t worry. It’s not up to them. They’re not in charge. We always hear on ‘A Life with Bitachon’ that Hashem runs the world, not them.” Rabbi Gross told her, “But practically speaking, realistically, they said all the seats are taken and there are ten people in front of us. So where do you think the bassinet will fall from? The sky?” His Rebbetzin said, “Yes! With Hakol Yachol, that’s what happens!!” As they were going on the plane, the one in charge came over to them and told them that he’s sorry, but they have to change their seats. This story was called in by Mrs. Schwartz. She said over that she’s making a chasunah very soon. She needed $20,000, but she had no idea where she could come up with that type of money. On top of that, her tenant just told her that they planned on leaving that month. That meant a loss of income, because she didn’t have time right then to start looking for another tenant. What was going to be? Then she decided that she’s going to tell her family, “Do you know who’s making this chasunah? Hakadosh Baruch Hu, the Ribbono Shel Olam. Do you know who is taking care of all our needs? Hakadosh Baruch Hu, the Ribbono Shel Olam. Therefore, we should only chap and realize that Hashem is taking care of us, and he’s paying the bill! Where is the money going to come from? You will see, kinderlach. It’s going to start flying in! Where, when, why, I have no idea. I’m just going to leave it up to Hashem.” All of a sudden, the phone rang. Somebody called up and said, “I know your tenant is leaving. I would love if I could have the apartment. Can I take it over? If you agree that I can take it over, I’ll give you money up front in cash right now. I’ll come over 1, 2, 3.” She said, “Are you serious?” He said, “Yes! This story was called in by Mr. Rabinowitz. He said that there was a blockage in the pipes leading to his washing machine, and the washing machine wasn’t working properly. His wife called a repairman to come fix it. When she told him how much the repairman charged, he realized that he could have gotten a different repairman for half the price. At first he was thinking, “What a waste of money. I know someone who can do the same job for much less.” Then he stopped in his tracks and said, “One second. I follow a Life with Bitachon. I chap and realize that where does money come from? It comes from Hakadosh Baruch Hu. It comes from the Ribbono Shel Olam. So the amount of money we spent on this repairman, Hashem has many ways to give it back. From where, from when, how? I don’t have to figure out eitzos, I just have to believe that Hashem is Hakol Yachol, and He’ll give us back the money 1, 2, 3!” With that, he was perfectly okay and fine with his wife getting that repairman because he knew it didn’t make difference anyway. Hashem would pay him back. Later on that day, his wife came home from work and said that someone came over to her and gave her money. They said, “You did a service for me. I want to show you hakaras hatov.” Do you know how much money it was? The exact amount, to the dollar, of how much they spent on the repairman. In no time, they got every last dollar back! This story was called in from Ramot Alef in Eretz Yisrael by Mrs. Goldberg. She said over that she is a seamstress. We all know that before Yom Tov is one of the busiest seasons; people are coming nonstop. “Could you hem this? Can you fix this?” As it was getting closer and closer to Yom Tov, she was making more rules and more rules, until she decided that she wouldn’t take any new clothing unless it was something simple As Yom Tov got even closer, she said, “Sorry! No more clothing! I have to get everything back to all of my customers before Yom Tov, I don’t have time for anything else.” Whoever had already given her stuff would be waiting for a couple of days to get it back. The line was very long. All of a sudden, she got a knock on her door. A lady came in and said, “I have a couple of articles of clothing that need hemming, sewing. Can you do it before Yom Tov?” Mrs. Goldberg was thinking to herself, “No! I can’t do it before Yom Tov, I have no t ime! It’s going to take me too long.” To her own surprise, she said, “Yes, I can do it. I can do it right away, on the spot!” The lady gave her one article, then a second article. Mrs. Goldberg was wondering to herself the whole time, “This doesn’t make sense. Why did I just take it? I don’t have time! Even the people that I already agreed to take their clothes, I don’t do it for them on the spot!” After she finally finished the tailoring, she actually even gave it to her for a cheaper price than usual. It wasn’t adding up! It didn’t make sense. Mrs. Goldberg didn’t understand what was going on. After she gave her back all the articles of clothing, she said, “Can I ask you one question? It doesn’t make sense. I haven’t been taking any more customers; I’ve been turning down so many people. You, not only do I take you; I do it on the spot; and I even give you a cheaper price! Can you tell me what was going on behind the scenes? Why did this happen to me?” The customer said, “I’ll tell you the truth. I woke up this morning, and I said, ‘Yes, I know it’s the day before Yom Tov. But Hashem, I really want something new. Hashem, I really want my clothing to get hemmed and fixed. Hashem, I know You are the only one who is going to be able to do it for me. On top of that, Hashem, I want a good price; I want a cheap price.’ And I just told Hashem this. After I spoke to Hashem, I came to you. I said I want a close seamstress, so I don’t have to run around. No issues and no problems. I want everything to go smooth from beginning to end. I want it to be chick-chock, 1,2,3. Here I am, and guess what! That’s exactly what happened! This story was called in by Mrs. Berlin from Bensalem. She got her son’s bus card for the year. It said that her son’s bus stop was four blocks away from her house. She had a house full of young children and babies. How in the world was she going to manage bringing her child four blocks away from the house every day? She really wanted the bus to come to her block. She asked her friend, “Is there any chance of getting the stop changed if I call the bus company?” Her friend starting laughing and said, “We all tried that! This is how they work. They want to put everyone at the same bus stop, and we’re all in the same boat; we all tried. We did every last hishtadlus. We’ve been living like this for years; nothing doing.” Mrs. Berlin said, “Let me try.” She called the bus company, but they said, “Sorry, it was tried many times before, nothing doing. This is how we operate, this is how we work.” She sat down, and she was thinking about how much Hashem helped her in the past. She said, “The same Hashem that helped me in the past can always help me!” She realized that even though the bus stop was still in the same place, four blocks away, Hashem was helping her already. It was becoming much easier by the day to bring all the kids to the bus stop. She was speaking to her friend who follows a Life with Bitachon, and she told her friend, “I see that when I puts Hashem into the picture, it gets better and better. Still, I really wish they would change the bus stop to right in front of my house. What should I do? The bus company doesn’t want to budge.” Her friend told her, “Let me tell you a secret. The secret is, don’t give up your Bitachon. Do not believe that it’s impossible. Hashem is Hakol Yachol. He can do everything and anything. If it didn’t happen yet, the day will come that yes, you will see Hashem will give you what you want. Mrs. Gross’s children were trying to make something in the Betty Crocker. However, when they plugged it in, the light didn’t go on, and it wasn’t working. She came to try to help out the situation. She tried this way and that way, but to no avail. Everyone in the family was trying to see what they could do. For over two hours they tried to get it working!! Nothing helped. Then she got the whole family together and she said, “You see, our Betty Crocker is broken. It’s not working. We already tried every last thing. But do you know really, we didn’t try the most important hishtadlus, more than any other hishtadlus in the while entire world. Who is the One who makes Betty Crockers work? You think it’s the plug? This story was called in by Mrs. Strohli. She said that one day, she really wanted a cleaning lady very badly. The problem was, it wasn’t a day that her cleaning lady usually came. Why in the world should her cleaning lady come just because she needed her? She thought, “Maybe she has a cancellation, I’ll call her.” She called, and the cleaning lady said, “Sorry, no cancellations today. I’m filled up to capacity today. Nothing doing, I won’t be able to come.” Mrs. Strohli hung up the phone thinking, “One second. The cleaning lady said that she has a full house today. She doesn’t have an extra minute for me. But is she in charge? Or is Hakadosh Baruch Hu the Ribbono Shel Olam in charge? I’m just going to go with Emunah and Bitachon, that Hakadosh Baruch Hu is Hakol Yachol, and He’ll work it out! How, where, when, why? I don’t have to figure out eitzos! I’ll just leave it up to Hashem!” At the end of the day, all of a sudden, the cleaning lady knocked on her door! She says to Mrs. Strohli, “You wanted me to come? Even though I don’t usually work now, I usually go home now, I’ll stay and do you a favor. I’ll give you one hour. After one hour, I go home.” Mrs. Strohli said, “Of course, thank you so much!” As the cleaning lady was cleaning up, Mrs. Strohli was thinking to herself, “I really need her more than one hour. I really need her to do a couple more things after she finishes the hour. So should I ask her? Let me try.” She asked her cleaning lady if she was able to do the floor, and this and that. She said, “Sorry, sorry! I’m already doing you a favor! One hour and nothing more!” Mrs. Strohli was thinking to herself again, “Who made the cleaning lady come for the first hour? You think she decided? It was Hashem! The same Hashem’ will make it that she’ll do a full job.” After the hour was over, Mrs. Strohli saw that the cleaning lady kept on working and working until everything was so perfectly gevaldik and amazing! She wanted to become a kindergarten teacher. Her friends all told her, “It’s very late in the game. Whoever has jobs has them, and whoever doesn’t, sorry you’ll have to look for something else.” She told her father what her friends were telling her, and he said, “Let’s sit down and let’s contemplate and think for a second. Who is in charge of giving you a job? Do you know who?” He said, “I’ll tell you who. Your loving, caring father, Hakadosh Baruch Hu, the Ribbono Shel Olam! Do you believe that?” She said, “Yes, of course!” Shloima said, “I know that you believe it, but do you really, really, really believe it?” She replied, “Yes. I really, really, really believe it.” Shloima said, “Okay. I see you really, really, really believe it, but do you really, really, really, really, really, really believe that Hakadosh Baruch Hu can give you a job right away 1,2,3, exactly the job you’re looking for?” His daughter said, “Yes! I really, really believe Hakadosh Baruch Hu can give me the most perfect gevaldik job right away, exactly what I’m looking for!” The next day, the phone rang. It was a school reaching out. They said, “We heard you’re looking for a job. We’re looking for a kindergarten teacher. Are you willing to come to our school? We know it’s very late to ask you, but we heard so many good things about you, and we want you to come so badly.” She said, “Of course! She was going to call her husband and ask him if he could do her a favor and go to the Fishing Line store and pick up fresh salmon for supper. Then she started thinking, “Why do I have to call my husband? I could just call Hakadosh Baruch Hu, the Ribbono Shel Olam; He can do everything and anything. Therefore, if I want fresh salmon, I’ll just leave it up to Hashem!” A couple of minutes later, the phone rang. It was her friend. Mrs. Rubin said, “How are you doing? What’s going on?” Her friend said, “Well, right now I’m at the Fishing Line. I’m picking up an order for my family. Do you want me to pick up anything for you?” Mrs. Rubin said, “Are you serious?” That’s exactly where I would like to be at this present moment; I need fresh salmon from the Fishing Line!” Her friend said, “Sure! She said over that it was Shabbos afternoon, and she knew that every week her sister-in-law who lives a few blocks away from her goes to visit a home-bound Yiddishe Mama, who lives in an apartment building all by herself. She really wanted to go along this week to visit her, but she had no idea how to get there. She knew how to get to her sister-in-laws house, but the issue and problem was, that she knew that her sister-in-law always left at a certain time, and it was already past that time. So what should she do? Then she said, “One second. Who is the one in charge of me getÝng there? My sister in law? It’s Hakadosh Baruch Hu, the Ribbono Shel Olam! He’s Hakol Yachol, He can do everything and anything. I’m just going to do the actions of walking to my sister-in-law’s house, and I’ll leave the rest up to Hashem!” When she got to her sister-in-law’s house, they said “Oh, she left a long time ago. She left over 15 minutes ago!” Mrs. Bodensky said, “Hakadosh Baruch Hu is the one who is running this world, and He can arrange it, and He’ll be able to get me exactly to where I need to go!” She looked up, and she saw her sister-in-law coming towards her! Her sister-in-law told her, “You know, I really left the house a long time ago, but I just remembered that I forgot something very important that I had to do in the house. This story was called in by Mrs. Weber. She said over that she was with her family in the middle of no-man’s land. They wanted to call a taxi to bring them home. When they called a taxi, the taxi asked them, “What’s your address? Where are you located?” Mrs. Weber said, “Sorry! We don’t have an address. We’re in the middle of no-man’s land.” The taxi service said, “Sorry! We can’t come pick you up unless you give us an exact address. We can’t come. First find out the exact address and then call us back.” With that, they hung up the phone. The Weber family thought to themselves, “The taxi driver said that he won’t be able to find us because we don’t have an exact address. But guess what! Hakadosh Baruch Hu knows exactly where we are! Therefore, we can say, “Hashem, were turning to You! You can send a taxi right here!” With that, they started being mchazek and singing, “Hakol Yachol, Hakol Yachol…” They looked up, and what did they see?? A taxi, from the same company that they had just called, was passing right by them!! They flagged it down and they said, “Are you available?” The taxi driver said, “Sure! No problem! This story was called in from Eretz Yisrael by Mrs. Hertz. They said over that their children were asking them if they could please have a sandwich maker. It would make such a difference! They told their children, “Yes, we know how much of a difference it would make, and we really want to give you one! But right now, there are too many Yom Tov expenses. We can’t even think about an extra one. Right now is not a good time. But even though it might not be a good time to ask us, you can ask Hakadosh Baruch Hu the Ribbono Shel Olam. He’s Hakol Yachol. He can do everything and anything. Therefore, tell Hashem exactly what you’re turning to Him for. Tell Hashem what you’re relying on Him for.” That’s exactly what their children did. Later on that day, they get a phone call from their friend. He said he’s moving to Chutz L’aretz after Sukkos, and he has a lot of gift cards that he never used in stores in Eretz Yisrael. He has a gift card to an appliance store with all different appliances that he wouldn’t be able to use in America. He said to them, would you like it? R’ Hertz said, “Are you serious? This is exactly what we were looking for!” Not only was it enough to get one sandwich maker, it was enough to get much more stuff to make the kids happy.
