Mrs. Oretz from Waterbury, Connecticut, wanted to bring her kids somewhere. All the children were in the car, and Mrs. Oretz put in the keys and tried to start the car. The car wouldn’t budge, it wouldn’t go! As much as she tried this way and that way, to no avail! After ten minutes of trying, her children saw what was going on, and they said, “Mommy, Who’s the one in charge of making the car work? Only Hashem!” With that, they started singing together: “Hakol Yachol, Hakol Yachol, Hakol Yachol..” Still, the car wasn’t budging! The car wasn’t moving or turning on! She called her husband to come try. He stated trying this way and that way, but to no avail! The car would not start! No noise. With that, the kids got out of the car and said to each other, “You know why it’s not starting? What does Hashem want from us? More bitachon! And more bitachon! And more bitachon!” Then they said that they’re going to play a game. Who ever taps the next person, that person has to start singing “Hakol Yachol, Hakol Yachol, Hakol Yachol.” After they did this for a little bit, they said, “Totty, try again!” This time, he put in the key, and the car started working! This story was called in all the way from Eretz Yisrael by a very chashuva Yid, whose name is Yaakov Hai. He said that he knew of a bachur that really needed a place for Shabbos. He was looking for a seuda. R’ Hai had the perfect seuda for this bachur. But the issue and problem was that he forgot the bachur’s name! He didn’t remember who he was, and therefore, he wasn’t able to contact him. R’ Hai looked through his phone contacts, hoping that maybe he would remember the bachur’s name that way, but none of the names rang a bell. He was trying to figure out what to do. He really wanted to call him and tell him that he had a seuda for him, but he forgot his name! Then he said, “I know what I’m going to do! I’m going to realize that it’s all Hakadosh Baruch Hu, the Ribbono Shel Olam! He’s Hakol Yachol. He can make it that I’ll be able to remember the bachur’s name! With that, I’m going to do an exercise of Emunah and Bitachon, and I’ll call the Life with Bitachon.” He called the story section, section number 2, and he heard a whole story about Yisrael Nussbaum. He said to himself, “Oh! That’s the bachur’s name! His name is Nussbaum!” With that, he was able to go back to his contacts and see that… yes! He has his number! Mrs. Birnhack was coming home after a long day at work. She was thinking to herself, “You know what I’m in the mood of right now? The most delicious, scrumptious bowl of salad, cut up with all different types of vegetables. I don’t have the energy and the koach now to go get all those vegetables and start making a salad for myself, but one thing I do know! Even though I don’t have the koach for it, I know that Hashem has always been taking care of me every step of my life. Hashem is the one that gives me all my needs. Therefore, I know Hakadosh Baruch Hu will take care of me.” Shortly afterwards, a neighbor called her up and asked her if she’s interested right now in the most delicious, scrumptious, fresh, cut up salad with all different types of vegetables. Mrs. Birnhack said, “Yes! How do you know? Why do you ask?” Her neighbor answered, “I’ll tell you the truth. I’m not the type to cut a whole bowl of salad for myself. I don’t usually get around to do it. Today, I was just in the mood to do it. I went around getÝng all different types of vegetables, and I cut up a salad. Afterwards, I realized that it’s a lot of portions. On top of that, I realized that I don’t even have such an appetite to eat. It’s not worth it to save it for tomorrow, because it’ll get soggy. I was wondering what should I do with all this salad that I just cut up; I don’t really have what to do with it. I decided I would call you to see if it’s something you would be interested in.” In no time, Mrs. Birnhack got the salad; exactly what she wanted and what she was dreaming of, delivered to her, with the best service! I’m just going to open the front door, look outside, and say, “Hashem, You’re Hakol Yachol!! You can do everything and anything! You can make a cleaning lady walk straight through my door!” She opened up her door, went out to her front yard, and saw a non-Jewish lady standing there. She asked her if she can help her with anything. The lady responded, “Yes! I’m a cleaning lady and I’m looking for work. Do you know anyone who needs help?” Mrs. Rubin said, “Are you serious?? This story was called in by Mrs. Schwartz. She said over that she’s making a chasunah very soon. She needed $20,000, but she had no idea where she could come up with that type of money. On top of that, her tenant just told her that they planned on leaving that month. That meant a loss of income, because she didn’t have time right then to start looking for another tenant. What was going to be? Then she decided that she’s going to tell her family, “Do you know who’s making this chasunah? Hakadosh Baruch Hu, the Ribbono Shel Olam. Do you know who is taking care of all our needs? Hakadosh Baruch Hu, the Ribbono Shel Olam. Therefore, we should only chap and realize that Hashem is taking care of us, and he’s paying the bill! Where is the money going to come from? You will see, kinderlach. It’s going to start flying in! Where, when, why, I have no idea. I’m just going to leave it up to Hashem.” All of a sudden, the phone rang. Somebody called up and said, “I know your tenant is leaving. I would love if I could have the apartment. Can I take it over? If you agree that I can take it over, I’ll give you money up front in cash right now. I’ll come over 1, 2, 3.” She said, “Are you serious?” He said, “Yes! This story was called in by Mr. Rabinowitz. He said that there was a blockage in the pipes leading to his washing machine, and the washing machine wasn’t working properly. His wife called a repairman to come fix it. When she told him how much the repairman charged, he realized that he could have gotten a different repairman for half the price. At first he was thinking, “What a waste of money. I know someone who can do the same job for much less.” Then he stopped in his tracks and said, “One second. I follow a Life with Bitachon. I chap and realize that where does money come from? It comes from Hakadosh Baruch Hu. It comes from the Ribbono Shel Olam. So the amount of money we spent on this repairman, Hashem has many ways to give it back. From where, from when, how? I don’t have to figure out eitzos, I just have to believe that Hashem is Hakol Yachol, and He’ll give us back the money 1, 2, 3!” With that, he was perfectly okay and fine with his wife getting that repairman because he knew it didn’t make difference anyway. Hashem would pay him back. Later on that day, his wife came home from work and said that someone came over to her and gave her money. They said, “You did a service for me. I want to show you hakaras hatov.” Do you know how much money it was? The exact amount, to the dollar, of how much they spent on the repairman. In no time, they got every last dollar back! How Are You Here?

By: Rabbi Yossi Rosenberg (Excerpt from Yated Ne’eman, printed with their kind permission) It’s statistically impossible for you to be here. There are over 1,000,000,000,000 (one trillion) neurons in an average human brain, and over 100,000,000,000,000 (one hundred trillion) synapses, connections through which the neurons communicate with each other. In one eye alone, the part that sees is comprised of tiny rods and cones. Each human retina can have about 7,000,000 (seven million) cones and between 75,000,000 (seventy-five million) and 150,000,000 (one hundred and fifty million) rods! The human circulatory system has blood vessels that reach every cell in our bodies, including over 10,000,000,000 (ten billion) microscopic capillaries. If we were to stretch our blood vessels out in one straight line, it would go around the world over two and a half times! Yet, our heart, pumping at an average of seventy to eighty beats per minute, circulates all of our blood through our entire system of blood vessels around three times every minute! The pumping is powered by electricity manufactured in the heart itself. The average adult human produces 200,000,000,000 (two hundred billion) red blood vessels, 10,000,000,000 (ten billion) white blood cells, and 400,000,000,000 (four hundred billion) platelets per day. These transport oxygen and whatever is necessary for every cell in the body – such as carbohydrates, proteins, fats, salts, glucose, calcium, iron, copper, etc. – all in a perfectly organized and highly regulated manner. They also carry away carbon dioxide and other waste products, and fight off thousands of potential diseases through a sophisticated system of ever-changing, custom-made antibodies. Every single person since creation has his or her own unique genome sequence made up of approximately 3,000,000,000 (three billion) pairs of deoxyribonucleic acid (DNA), structured in a stunning double-helix polymer containing four nitrogenous bases attached to a deoxyribonucleic sugar molecule and a phosphate molecule. These are just a tiny sampling of the trillions of highly sophisticated and exquisitely controlled activities going on each and every second in every human body. Clearly, then, you are not – statistically speaking – here right now, simply because there is no way that you are alive and capable of reading. It’s impossible. There’s just no way for so many trillions of moving parts operated by so many different yet interconnected systems to work properly for one day, let alone for years and years. The problem is the fact that you are here! Clearly, it would be safe to say that our very existence is living proof that Hashem is in charge of that which He created, and that He takes care of it all, down to the minutest details, regardless of what may or may not be the actual statistical outcome.

This story was called in by Mrs. Berlin from Bensalem. She got her son’s bus card for the year. It said that her son’s bus stop was four blocks away from her house. She had a house full of young children and babies. How in the world was she going to manage bringing her child four blocks away from the house every day? She really wanted the bus to come to her block. She asked her friend, “Is there any chance of getting the stop changed if I call the bus company?” Her friend starting laughing and said, “We all tried that! This is how they work. They want to put everyone at the same bus stop, and we’re all in the same boat; we all tried. We did every last hishtadlus. We’ve been living like this for years; nothing doing.” Mrs. Berlin said, “Let me try.” She called the bus company, but they said, “Sorry, it was tried many times before, nothing doing. This is how we operate, this is how we work.” She sat down, and she was thinking about how much Hashem helped her in the past. She said, “The same Hashem that helped me in the past can always help me!” She realized that even though the bus stop was still in the same place, four blocks away, Hashem was helping her already. It was becoming much easier by the day to bring all the kids to the bus stop. She was speaking to her friend who follows a Life with Bitachon, and she told her friend, “I see that when I puts Hashem into the picture, it gets better and better. Still, I really wish they would change the bus stop to right in front of my house. What should I do? The bus company doesn’t want to budge.” Her friend told her, “Let me tell you a secret. The secret is, don’t give up your Bitachon. Do not believe that it’s impossible. Hashem is Hakol Yachol. He can do everything and anything. If it didn’t happen yet, the day will come that yes, you will see Hashem will give you what you want. Just don’t give up.” Mrs. Berlin said that shortly afterwards, all of a sudden, the bus company called her up. They said, “We’re changing your bus stop to the block of your house!
