Mrs. Leibowitz from Eretz Yisrael underwent a fullday surgery. When the surgery was finished, R’ Leibowitz wanted to go visit his wife. The hospital said, “Sorry, policy is that you can’t see a patient post-surgery for the first three hours, and it’s going to be night by then, after visiting hours, so you have to come back tomorrow.” He said “Tomorrow? My wife needs me to come visit her now, to see how she’s doing.” He called askanim, but the askanim said, “Nothing doing. They don’t budge. They go with the policy. By them, a rule is a rule.” R’ Leibowitz hung up the phone and he said, “Hashem, no one could help me. Not askanim, no one! I’m going straight to You!” He called the manager of the hospital one more time. The manager said, “Okay, don’t worry, just go up!” They let him in!
