Hashem- The Ultimate Pull!

R’ Katz* was trying to get his child into a certain Mossad. People said, “There’s a waiting list out the door. You need a lot of pull to get in. It’s not practical. Even people with pull couldn’t get in.” R’ Katz said, “One second. If we have no pull, then let’s use Hashem’s pull.” They applied, and the school said that they would put them on the bottom of the list but that they shouldn’t even think it’s possible because there are 100 people before them. The next day, the school called them up and said, “Okay, come for an interview.” R’ Katz asked them, “Aren’t we the last on the list?” They said, “You’re right, we made a mistake. We looked at the bottom of the list instead of the top, but once we called you, we called you.” They got in!!! Amazing Hashgacha Pratis! [R’ Golombeck]   Read more: Hashem’s Endless Kindness!

Is there Hashgacha Pratis during the 3 weeks?

Of course there is Hashgacha Pratis during the 3 weeks! There is something very interesting that we find in hilchos Tisha B’av. We sit on the floor, recite kinnos, don’t even greet each other yet surprisingly we omit tachanun; just like we find by the other moadim. Why is this so? The verse in Eichah (1:16) tells us, ‘מועד עלי ‘קרא. From here we see that Tisha Be’av is considered to be a moed and therefore just like with the other moadim we don’t say tachanun We can understand why in the future Tisha B’av will be a moed, but why even now does it already have the status of a moed? The Chasam Sofer explains that since our mourning is coming from hope, therefore, the Bais Hamikdash is still considered alive and it has the status of a moed! And a moed is a time when we come close and we connect with Hashem!

Hashem is the Best Party Planner!

Rav Golombeck had the most amazing encounter with a very chushuv Yid, Shmuel, who works as an electrician, and he goes around fixing electricity in people’s houses. He told Rav Golombeck that three years ago he went to fix the electricity by a yungerman by the name of Efraim Rosen. While he was at his house, Efraim had ‘A Life with Bitachon’ playing on speakerphone. Shmuel was blown away by the Emunah and Bitachon! He asked for the number of ‘A Life with Bitachon’, and they ended up schmoozing for over one hour! He didn’t wind up going to anybody else that day. He was just so amazed by Emunah and Bitachon. He said that ever since that day three years ago, he has been following ‘A Life with Bitachon’ every day, and it has changed his entire life. He told Rav Golombeck, “Right now, I’m making a Simcha.” (It was his child’s aufruf.) “Instead of caring all the time what type of impression I’m making, being scared of this person from that person, trying to please and impress everybody. I say that I am here just to impress and please Hashem. It’s so easy to please and impress Hashem. Everything is from Hashem, and everything is perfect! Hashem is running the simcha and Hashem is making the simcha!” He said he was able to be so calm and relaxed with a smile! He never believed he could make a simcha so stress and worry-free! Just like having a party planner, he saw how Hashem was taking care of everything with hashgacha pratis from start to finish and everything in between!
