Bitachon Brings Shalom: Divine Intervention in Daily Challenges

Bitachon Cleans Shabbos Tablecloth

Rabbi Yehuda Mandel got a nosebleed, and it dripped on his white Shabbos tablecloth. He attempted to wipe off the stain with a damp towel, but it wouldn’t budge, which he knew would certainly disappoint his wife. So he said, “You think It’s a towel that cleans anything? Or the water that cleans it? It’s Hashem!” He tried again, and it just went out! It disappeared! He showed it to Rabbi Golombeck, and he said: “Look, where’s the nosebleed? I can’t see it! There’s no mark, no zecher!”     Read more: Bitachon #50

Menuchas Hanefesh: Embracing Tranquility & Joy through Bitachon

Menuchas Hanefesh Above All!

Mrs. Weinberg was late for her child’s eye doctor’s appointment and called to see if she could still be seen. The receptionist said that if she could come within seven minutes, then yes; otherwise, there would be nothing to do. Mrs. Weinberg thought to herself, “The doctor said seven minutes, and he’s very firm about it.” Then she thought to herself, “There’s no way I’m going to get there in seven minutes. If I rush, it’s going to rob me of my menuchas hanefesh and simchas hachaim. That’s not proper hishtadlus.” So she decided that she would go calmly, and she said to herself, “While I’m having Bitachon, not only are they going to take me, they’re going to be nice to me! They’re going to be friendly, easy-going, and geshmak!” When she came to the office,  even though she was late, the secretary said, “Wow, it’s so amazing you came. I’m so happy!” The nicest greeting in the world!!   Read more: Hashem Loves His Yeshiva Bochurim!

He said, “Oh, my chavrusa just had shigella, and I probably caught it. He was out for a few days.” The first thing his wife thought was, “Oh no. Now, my husband is going to be out for a few days, and my children are going to catch it.” Then she said, “One second. I don’t believe in cause and effect. I don’t believe in nature. I don’t believe in teva. I believe in “Ha’mechadesh bi’tuvo b’chol yom tamid.” Every second is a new world. Her husband went to sleep and woke up feeling perfectly fine! without any symptoms. He was with all of his kochos; he felt amazing! We do our part, and Hashem will do His part.”

Mrs. Fried* from Eretz Yisrael was looking high and low for a new apartment. People told her that what she was looking for was a dream and that she was never going to get it. “Just take whatever you can get.” Somebody called her up and said that they knew of an available apartment; she should come to check it out. It had nothing that she wanted, but she said to herself, “Hishtadlus isn’t cause and effect. We do our part, and Hashem will do His part.” They went to check it out, and on the way, they saw a sign for a different apartment. They checked out all the details, they went, and it was exactly what they were looking for! It was a dream apartment. They took it, and they saw that Hashem has many ways. You just do your part, and Hashem will do the rest!   Read more: Bitachon #49

Klal Yisrael is amazing! Bitachon is incredible!

Mendy,* a yeshiva bachur, was waiting with his friend for a hitch. Every car was passing by, and no one was giving them a ride. They needed to go to Yeshiva. He told his friend, “You know what the problem is? We’re being Bote’ach in cars. Let’s be mechazek in Bitachon and start singing Hakol Yachol. You’ll see that the next car will pick us up.” The next car passed them and just kept on going. His friend asked him, “What happened with your Bitachon?” He answered him, “Bitachon can make it that it will come around!” Just like that, the car backed up, and the driver said, “So sorry, you know, I noticed you were waiting. I should have picked you up. Wherever you need to go, I’ll give you a ride!” Klal Yisrael is amazing! Bitachon is incredible! [R’ Zevy Golombeck] Read more: Bitachon #48

Who's Really In Charge?

“A Living Kiddush Hashem”

Mrs. Alpert, R’ Avigdor Miller’s einkel, once called me up to ask what Kabbalah she could do to bring more kavod shamayim to the world. She was already doing so much, but I told her to tell one person a day how she saw Hashem that day. She said she’s been doing it, and people love it and have been asking for more! She shares stories with them, and they share with her. She has a hotline, and today, she said over a story. She went from store to store shopping. After she finished, as she was walking out of one of the stores, she stuck her hands in her pocketbook, and she realized that there were no keys. She usually doesn’t even check her pocketbook ahead of time to see if she has her keys; when she gets to her car, she looks for them. Hashem just put it into her brain to check, and she saw she was missing her car keys. She had no idea where it was, and she had a lot of packages with her. Then she remembered the last place she had them. She is a teacher, and she went to the candy store to get candies for the kids. She had her keys in her hand as she was counting out the candies. She went to check, and it was right there! She saw the chesed Hashem! If she had gone to her car without checking for her keys ahead of time, she would have carried all those bags to the car, and then she would have had to go back inside. Also, Hashem reminded her where it could have been! She didn’t remember that she had her keys then. It was just Hashem putting everything in her brain. She said that Hashem showed her chesed after chesed and that He is taking care of her. Amazing Hashgacha Praitis! [R’ Zevy Golombeck] Read more: Chesed Hashem

Chesed Hashem

Ushi Sofer* was flying overseas back to his Yeshiva. He arrived at the airport only 45 minutes before his flight, and found a very long line. It seemed like he was going to miss his flight. Then, the non-Jew who was in charge came over to him and said, “Come right here. Come to the front of the line.” He brought him straight to the front of the line. They took him in on the flight one, two, three! The Chesed Hashem on his journey didn’t stop there. He hadn’t arranged a ride to his Yeshiva when he was going to land. While he was on the plane, a Yid came over to him and asked him where he was going. He told him he is a bachur going to Yeshiva, and the Yid said, “You can come with me. I’ll give you a free ride to Yeshiva!” Such hashgacha pratis! [R’ Zevy Golombeck]   Read more: “Water From Sham’yim!”
