Bitachon Aliah

R’ Fisher* from Eretz Yisrael moved into a new neighborhood and started going to a new Shul. He wanted to daven for the amud. He was davening there for a few weeks, and they never asked him once to daven for the amud. One Shabbos he said to Hashem, “Okay, I am leaving it up to you. The gabbai is not calling me; he doesn’t notice me; I’m going with You.” That Shabbos, while they were giving aliyos, he was mechazek more and more in Bitachon. When they were giving maftir, they called him up and they said that he gets a package deal. He gets maftir and mussaf. He ended up getting an aliyah; mafitr and davening for the amud! Rabbi Golombeck sees how much Hashem Loves and Cares for him!

A mother left him a message with a question on the hotline. He called her back and said to her that this question was for her Rav and she should be asking him. She said that with these types of questions, her Rav tells her that only Rabbi Forsheimer knows the answers. So Rabbi Golombeck asked her, “So what’s the problem?” She said that the last time she tried to call Rabbi Forsheimer, it took her a week to get through to him. She doesn’t have a week now to get through to him. Rabbi Golombeck told her, “Okay, I’ll call him instead of you.” Usually, Rabbi Golombeck also has to call Rabbi Forsheimer about 20 to 40 times in order to get through to him, but he decided he’ll do it anyway, to help another Yid. He called, and on the first try, Rabbi Forsheimer answered!! Rabbi Forsheimer said that he didn’t have a clear answer to the question and that Rabbi Golombeck should call Rebbetzin Halberstadt;  she would know. So Rabbi Golombeck called Rebetzin Halberstadt, and she said that she was leaving to teach in three minutes; and that Rabbi Golombeck caught her right as she was about to leave! She said she had 60 seconds. She gave Rabbi Golombeck 100 percent clarity on the answer to the question. Within two minutes of Rabbi Golombeck speaking to the mother with her question, she got an answer!! Even though it was through Rabbi Forsheimer, who usually takes 20 times to get through to, and the Rebbetzin, who was about to leave for work! Everything was orchestrated perfectly with hashgacha pratis! Read More: Hashgacha Pratis Read more: “Hashems Constant Care”

A Life with Bitachon-A Game Changer

R’ Kaplan’s* wife always listened to the Bitachon hotline, and she always tried to convince him to listen. She kept telling him, “Listen, listen, listen, you’ll be a happier person and it will help you.” He never had time, and he always pushed it off. Two weeks ago, he said to himself, “One second. I really need to help myself. I want to be happy in life.” He started listening to the hotline and he said, “Wow. I never heard these concepts. It’s a game changer.” He said that a few weeks later, he already sees how he’s bringing it into his life. He gave an example. He went into a store, and he saw that somebody left his tefillin bag. He wasn’t familiar with this name. It was a bachur’s tefillin, and he didn’t know how he was going to return it to him. Then he said, “I’m having Bitachon. Within a couple minutes, either the one who lost it or somebody who knows him will come by and I’ll be able to return it to him.” A minute later, a father walked by with his son, and they saw him standing next to the tefillin. They asked him, “Whose tefillin is this?” The yungerman told them that he doesn’t know. They said, “We know this person, and if you want we can return it to him!” Just like that! Hashem orchestrated it! Read more: Bitachon #46

Vacation on Hashem’s Tab!

One week, Mrs. Levine* wanted to take a break from Shabbos cooking and baking and setting up the table. She wanted a vacation; she wanted to go away. However, she couldn’t afford to go anywhere that cost money. She said to herself,  “I wish someone would invite my entire family for all the seudos. But I don’t have any family near me, and nobody has invited me in the past Yovel!” Then she said, “One second. Who puts it in people’s brains to invite me? It’s Hashem!” That night, she got a phone call from one of her friends, who said to her, “You know, “I’m in the mood to have some company over.” I haven’t had guests in such a long time. It’s probably too late to call you; you probably already made Shabbos. But is there any way you could come?” Her friend lived close by, and they were able to walk over for all the seudos! Just like that, she got a free vacation on Hashem’s tab! [R’ Golombeck] Read more: Hashem Gives Gift to Child

It’s not money that buys shoes; it’s You, Hashem

Mrs. Schwartz’s* child needed a pair of shoes, but she couldn’t afford it. She didn’t know what to do. She said, “Hashem, I can’t afford it. I don’t have money, but it’s not money that buys shoes; it’s You, Hashem.” Shortly afterwards, one of her neighbors was speaking with her and told her that she just bought a pair of shoes for their child, but their child didn’t like the color or the style. “Do you know of anyone who could use it?”. The shoes fit Mrs. Schwartz’s child just right, they fit like a glove. They’re perfect! The colors, everything! Hashem worked out every last detail![R’ Golombeck]   Read more: Bitachon #45

Is there Hashgacha Pratis during the 3 weeks?

Of course there is Hashgacha Pratis during the 3 weeks! There is something very interesting that we find in hilchos Tisha B’av. We sit on the floor, recite kinnos, don’t even greet each other yet surprisingly we omit tachanun; just like we find by the other moadim. Why is this so? The verse in Eichah (1:16) tells us, ‘מועד עלי ‘קרא. From here we see that Tisha Be’av is considered to be a moed and therefore just like with the other moadim we don’t say tachanun We can understand why in the future Tisha B’av will be a moed, but why even now does it already have the status of a moed? The Chasam Sofer explains that since our mourning is coming from hope, therefore, the Bais Hamikdash is still considered alive and it has the status of a moed! And a moed is a time when we come close and we connect with Hashem!

Bitachon Opens Bike Lock

R’ Chaim Gross* just bought a new bike lock. He set up a combination number and he locked the bike. Later on, when he was trying to open it, he realized that he had forgotten the combination that he had just set, and he didn’t know what to do. He was fiddling and playing with it, but it wasn’t opening. R’ Chaim’s wife made a suggestion: “I will sing Hakol Yachol.” He tried a code, but it still didn’t work.  So his wife said, “Oh, I probably need more Bitachon!”  She started singing again ‘Hakol Yachol,’ and halfway through, the bike lock opened up!!
